Historic Monuments and Markers
Bradford County is home to a number of historic sites. Over the years, many sites have been marked either by the historical society, or by other organizations, many times in partnership with the state of Pennsylvania.

Below you will find a list of historic monuments and markers that have been sorted by town, borough or other name. By clicking on a town, all of the monuments or historic markers will be listed for that area along with a description of its location. If you know of a marker that is not listed, please contact us and send the full text and a description as well as its location.
Some markers are listed as "MISSING" because they were not there at the time that this inventory was completed. Unfortunately, some markers have been stolen and have not yet been located. The Bradford County Historical Society has located and returned some of these markers to their locations but many are still unaccounted for. If you have any information as to the location of a missing marker, or if you notice unusual activity around a historic marker, please contact us. Most historic markers are the property of the state of Pennsylvania and marker theft is a serious crime. Help us preserve our historic sites for future generations.
